Kingscote was South Australia’s first settlement and the Queenscliffe Hotel was the town's first hotel opened in 1884. As Kangaroo Island’s major building it served as a town centre, being used for local council meetings, visiting doctors and dentists rooms and the focal point for the town square. The “Queene” has served the local community of fisherman, farmers and many a visitor to the island, with true Kangaroo Island hospitality for well over a 100 years now and is known as the local's pub.

Lodgings
The hotel has a range of 11 single and double rooms with ensuite facilities, TV and tea/coffee making provisions. Tariffs are $60 single and $80 double.

Dining
You can enjoy a traditional pub style meal in the front bar or a delicious meal from the modern Australian style menu in the hotel’s restaurant. The international chef loves introducing new dishes from fresh local produce and local seafood for your enjoyment. Prices range from $7.50 to $28.

Bars
The hotel’s front bar serves an icy cold beer to quench any thirst along with a complete range of wines, spirits and mixers. You can also enjoy Sky Channel and place a bet on the TAB. The lounge bar has a cosy and relaxed atmosphere and the gaming lounge has a good selection of machines for your entertainment.

Entertainment
Friday and Saturday nights are music nights at the “Queene” with a range of various bands and musicians to entertain you. You can phone the hotel on 8553 2254 for more details. The “Queene’s” social club also arranges lots of events for members and you can also check these at the hotel.
